"I have been going to this place for years. Its location isnt a normal area i am around in anchorage but we make a special trip to get food here. I would consider the pricing moderate to slightly expensive. But i think the chinese food is worth every penny. You can sit and eat or take to go which i have done both. The customer service is good here. Its kinda a whole in the wall place but its great. They have expended tje food selection so they have something for everyone. Expresso, Mocha, Soup, Sandwich, Burgers, Chinese (lunch & dinner specials), & they now are serving all day breakfast too."
"With two chinese restaurants being in such close proximity you would think one of them would have given up the location and moved elsewhere but when you try this sit down restaurant the experience is far different from that of Pink Peppers. For one I actual got a metal fork (PP only has plastic utensils) and actual dipping pans for the sweet and sour sauce whereas PP just places a plastic dipping cup on the plate as well as a glass with ice. Yeah yeah this may just be table presentation but this goes to show that Chef Lees actual invests more into giving their customers a more at home dining experience. Now onto the food ive had the Kung Pao Chicken dish and the Mongolian Beef dish at both within a day of eachother and the quality itself becomes quite appararent. First off the fried rice at Chef Lees is done traditionally showing the nice light brown hue with all the typical added vegies for more variety in flavor. I dont recall seeing any of the vegies in my fried rice at PPs they go with a different style of fried rice but it really lacks taste. The meat entrees themselves were similar for the mongolian beef but once again Chefs Kung Pao came out on top with more of a crispy texture and flavor something about PPs threw me off in the texture but I cant seem to wrap my head about why. The eggroll was also perfect at Chefs with the one i had at Pinks looking almost burnt. In the end Chefs came out on top for me in all aspects that I look for in both delivery as well as a dine in experience which is why Im happy to make this my preffered chinese (and sometimes korean) restaurant."
