"We were grateful to have been offered a table at short notice, our first time out in a restaurant since the start of the pandemic and our first real trip away. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and comfy sofa's. We understood that the staff were under pressure, we were very willing to wait for our table. The male staff were amazing, however, one of the female Chinese staff was so bloody rude to us, she came to hand us plates, my husband's plate was hot, mine was cold and she asked me if the small plate that she almost smashed on the table was correct........hello, a plate is a plate, her job, she knows which plate goes with which meal. I was truly shocked by her attitude which completely spoiled our night out. Our food was served and mine being duck, was cold and usually I wouldn't complain but her attitude which was truly rude and awful tipped both of us over the edge. I asked if the duck could be heated, was happy to have it microwaved, we just wanted a nice meal. The male waiter was very honest and admitted that my duck had been prepared, shredded and left to sit. We were hungry and i ate the cucumber whist i waited for a long time for new duck to be served, I ordered another glass of wine. I get the stress of the situation, however, i absolutely refuse to have a plate smashed down in front of me and to be made to feel so uncomfortable.........oddly same female member of staff made a huge fuss over the table next to us. In fact, I felt the racism a tad too much, such a shame that people consider it OK to treat people so rudely, with such disrespect and cheers for completely trashing out break away..........Tops, no way."
